The most popular are doll-like, Polly Pocket- and Barbie-esque, but surprisingly easy to incorporate into an everyday wardrobe without looking like you’ve stepped straight out of a Dream House. Vogue’s Laura Hawkins can attest: last year, she spent her “entire summer” in a pink caged pair of jellies from Ancient Greek Sandals, but this time round – in an effort to find something a “touch more elevated” – she invested in Jimmy Choo’s new mules, which feature a kitten heel that, as Laura puts it, is “as perfect for the pool as a cocktail party.” “What’s more, they’re incredibly comfortable too!”
Taking on the same shape as a classic mule sandal, with a teardrop two-inch heel, the TPU jellies capture the “fleeting joy of summer” – as Jimmy Choo creative director, Sandra Choi, tells Vogue. “They’re lighthearted and playful, a dose of fun, perfect for the season. Designed to have a glasslike quality, they can be dressed up or down, for the city or the beach.” Available in a glittering clear colourway, a blue “lagoon” and zesty “amber”, the colours were chosen to feel “uplifting.”
Chloé’s takes, paired with pastel denim and sprightly florals on Chemena Kamali’s spring/summer 2026 runway, are even more demure and toy-ish by comparison, with scrunched ruched peep-toes slightly curved heels (there’s also a heeled jelly flip-flop). The colours exaggerate the unique translucent silhouette: they can be found in powder blue, raspberry, leopard print, grey and butter yellow.
Jelly heels evoke a more casual vibe than a classic heel, plus the plastic construction ensures they’re genuinely comfortable. A strong, reliable alternative to normie sandals for summer.
