Robert Irwin has revealed the surprising reason he takes on so many projects – admitting he becomes physically unwell if he stops moving.

The celebrity conservationist told this week’s The Watchlist that his packed schedule isn’t simply driven by ambition, but also necessity.

‘I can’t stand being still; it makes me physically ill. That’s not even an analogy. I actually get physically nauseous if I’m inside,’ he began.

‘I have to just always be going. If I don’t, I don’t sleep. I feel like I’m going to just pass out.’

The 22-year-old has barely stopped for breath in recent months, juggling television commitments with his ongoing work at Australia Zoo and conservation projects.

Discussing his hectic schedule, which recently included hosting Dancing With The Stars: The Next Pro – a DWTS spin-off filmed in Queensland for American audiences – Robert admitted he has a habit of overcommitting.

The celebrity conservationist told this week’s The Watchlist that his packed schedule isn’t simply driven by ambition, but also necessity

‘I say yes to too much, that’s the problem!’ he joked.

‘I say yes to everything, but when I go home, the real work for Australia Zoo and my conservation projects begins. My day job starts when I get back… I love that.’

He then revealed whether he would accept the role of James Bond, as Hollywood searches for an actor – rumoured to be Aussie star Jacob Elordi – to play the iconic spy in a new movie.

‘If Jacob pulls out, I’m there. I don’t know if my first role can be James Bond, but I wouldn’t say no. A khaki tux? Obviously! And the villain would be habitat destruction,’ he quipped.

He also revealed he will be making a surprise appearance this coming Wednesday as a guest judge on an iconic Channel Ten reality TV series.

‘So we’re going straight to MasterChef Australia, yeah? My approach is: if you’re going to do it, you’ve got to go all out,’ he said.

Robert may currently be one of the most sought-after stars in Australian television, but insiders now claim that Hollywood could be preparing to steal him away completely.

While rival TV networks aggressively pursue him for major hosting deals, industry figures claim that Robert has recently slowed local conversations as international opportunities begun opening up behind the scenes.

According to insiders, movie producers are particularly interested in Robert’s crossover appeal between entertainment, lifestyle, conservation and family audiences.

‘He already feels bigger than just one television network,’ the source added.

‘That’s exactly the kind of trajectory people around him are now talking about.’

And while there’s currently no suggestion Robert is about to quit Australian television entirely, sources claim many executives privately believe it may only be a matter of time before he makes the jump internationally.

‘The industry absolutely sees him as somebody who could become Australia’s next major global star,’ an insider said.

‘Hollywood is definitely starting to notice.’

Robert recently teased a big-screen debut after sharing a trailer to Instagram for what appeared to be a movie project called Max Impact.

In the brief preview, the Dancing with the Stars champ can be seen racing through a jungle setting in his trademark khakis.

‘Something epic is coming,’ he captioned the post on Instagram.
