Chelsea Handler lambasted A-list TV chef Bobby Flay for being ‘cheap’ with her and taking her on a date she described as ‘messy.’
The 51-year-old dropped the bombshell claims when Kristin Cavallari asked her to relay a ‘bad celebrity date story’ on her podcast Let’s Be Honest.
Both women have been frank about the boldface names they dated in the past, which in Handler’s case range from 50 Cent to Jo Koy.
Meanwhile Cavallari used to be married to NFL player Jay Cutler and has since divulged her flings with such notables as Morgan Wallen and Jason Statham.
It was on the latest episode of Cavallari’s show that Handler revealed for the first time: ‘Yeah, I went on a date with Bobby Flay. That was pretty bad.’
She explained that ‘someone hooked us up’ and ‘we were talking on the phone, flirting a little bit’ – before a hotel incident that left her with a sour taste in her mouth.
The Daily Mail has contacted Flay’s representatives for comment.

Handler and a group of female friends were staying at a hotel Flay was familiar with, so he exclaimed: ‘Let me order your food for you. I love that hotel.’
He sent a room service order up to Handler and her gal pals, only to undercut his act of gallantry by leaving the comedienne with the bill.
‘And then somebody was like: “Oh, yeah, he’s really cheap. He’s really cheap.” And I was like: “Oh, I hate cheap,”‘ Handler told Cavallari.
‘If you’re penurious, I’m not interested in you. I’m generous and I like people to be generous with their money,’ said the Uganda Be Kidding Me author.
‘And then we did end up going on a date and it was just not a match. It was just like messy. It was messy,’ she recalled with a laugh.
Handler has dated a fleet of famous men like hotelier Andre Balazs – owner of such properties as the Chateau Marmont on the Sunset Strip and the Mercer Hotel in Manhattan – and Animal Planet heartthrob Dave Salmoni.
She began seeing TV tycoon Ted Harbert in 2006, the year she launched her talk show Chelsea Lately on E!, whose parent company he headed at the time.
Meanwhile Flay appeared on Cavallari’s podcast a couple of years ago and revealed that she had once rejected his offer of a date.

According to Flay, he messaged her: ‘I’m going to be in Nashville for one night. Can I take you to dinner?’ and she replied: ‘I’m already dating somebody.’
Cavallari recalled the exchange differently, insisting that she had informed Flay that she at that stage was ‘burnt out’ with dating altogether.
Flay good-naturedly stuck to his story, saying that Cavallari told him she had ‘already started seeing somebody,’ and that he then replied that he was only asking to ‘go to dinner with you’ in a friendly capacity.
Cavallari is single, while Handler recently had a six-month fling with construction executive Joe Largura and Flay is dating fellow chef Brooke Williamson.
