Farmer Wants a Wife may have delivered plenty of romance over the years, but one real-life female farmer has declared it’s time producers gave the younger bachelors the boot.
Queensland cattle farmer and influencer Farmer Belle, who shot to fame after winning the title of the state’s ‘top young farmer’ in 2025, has gone viral after demanding the Channel Seven series start casting ‘older daddies’ instead of fresh-faced 21-year-olds.
In a tongue-in-cheek interview video shared to TikTok, Belle said viewers were crying out for mature farmers with life experience rather than young men barely out of their teens.
‘Petition for Farmer Wants a Wife to actually start casting some daddies,’ she began.
‘Yeah, because tell me why there’s 21-year-olds on there. Mate, you don’t need a wife. You still have a Snapchat streak. Get off the show.’
Belle argued the series should focus on older farmers who have weathered the highs and lows of rural life.

‘We want the older men that are 40-plus, and I know I’m not the only one speaking that has this opinion,’ she continued.
‘Because I’m gonna need a man that’s been through at least two droughts, is in extreme debt, and has a shed full of tools that he refuses to get rid of.’
The farmer joked that younger contestants simply hadn’t experienced enough hardship to make compelling television.
‘Yeah, I don’t need a 21-year-old that needs a wife. Get these f**king young bucks off that haven’t even had a heartbreak.’
Instead, she made it clear exactly what she believes audiences want.
‘We want the older daddies,’ she declared.
Belle ended the clip by jokingly saying she was ready to launch a campaign to force producers’ hands.
‘I’m gonna start a rally.’
Her cheeky comments quickly resonated with social media users, with many agreeing the long-running reality show needed a shakeup.

It comes as loyal viewers are already threatening to switch off, claiming the beloved Channel Seven series is beginning to resemble drama-filled Nine rival Married At First Sight.
The matchmaking franchise has enjoyed remarkable success since launching in Australia in 2007, producing more than 20 lasting relationships, including marriages, engagements and several babies.
However, many fans fear the show’s winning formula is now being overshadowed by manufactured drama, glamorous contestants and a growing focus on conflict rather than finding lasting love.
The backlash was swift, with some viewers questioning whether this year’s crop of hopefuls were truly suited to life on the land.
‘Girls who have no interest in farm life but want to get on TV. Blown up lips on a farm, really!’ one person sniped.
Meanwhile, others drew direct comparisons with MAFS, where contestants are often criticised for chasing social media fame rather than genuine relationships.
‘Sick of so-called farmers picking pretty girls and it doesn’t work out because they don’t want to live away from a city. All a waste of time… as bad as MAFS!’ one person wrote.
‘Another good series ruined by ladies who really have no interest in farming, they’re just after exposure… a pity,’ another chimed in.
‘I’m not watching this season, the show has lost its heart. If I wanted to watch a ‘b****fest’ then I could tune into MAFS!’ one furious viewer wrote.
