Married At First Sight groom Chris Robinson has made quite the transformation after he failed to find love with Sam Stanton on the Nine series

The gym owner, 38, who is currently an expectant father of two children, recently flaunted his incredible post-show physique in a new photoshoot.

He flexed his ripped abs and pectorals during a shoot on his New South Wales farm, giving a peek at his new look and inside his rural life.

The reality TV groom showed off his numerous tattoos, as well as his tanned and toned frame in a pair of blue jeans for one photo.

In another, he donned a cowboy hat and dipped his feet into a cool stream, stripping down to a pair of black underwear.

Other pictures saw Chris in his element, posing as he stepped out of his red truck, while a fourth image showed him leading one of his horses around his land.

Married At First Sight groom Chris Robinson, 38, has made quite the transformation after he failed to find love with Sam Stanton on the Nine series

It comes as Chris revealed in an interview with New Idea details of the texts he and Sam exchanged following their disastrous split on the show.

He said the pair have since developed a civil friendship despite splitting up during Homestays when Sam accused Chris of not fighting for the relationship.

‘After our final episode on the Commitment Ceremony, we kind of both sent each other a text,’ Chris revealed.

‘[It said], “What a ride that was. Thank you so much for coming on the journey with me, and take care and all the best.” So we are very amicable, which is great.’

Sam and Chris weren’t the loudest couple on MAFS, but behind the scenes, the pair’s relationship was quietly falling apart long before viewers saw it unravel

From missed conversations to mounting frustration, what appeared to be a relatively stable pairing on screen was, in reality, a slow burn breakdown driven by communication issues, defensiveness and emotional disconnect.

Both grooms spoke out shortly after leaving the show – revealing a relationship that struggled to get back on track once cracks began to show.

Speaking to Daily Mail last month, Sam described watching the series back as ‘frustrating and confronting’, admitting one unseen moment left him deeply hurt.

‘But the biggest thing sitting with me now is the unseen footage… I’m pretty f***ing hurt by it,’ he said.

The footage in question showed Chris making comments about Sam’s finances and living situation – claims Sam insists are not only hurtful, but untrue.

‘I never once used a coupon… I actually spent more money than him. I lived with my best friend – not in a share house like he made it out,’ he said.

Chris has since addressed the moment, admitting the remark was made in the heat of the moment.

‘It was just a silly, b***hy comment,’ he said.

But for Sam, the issue ran deeper than one offhand comment.

While the pair appeared to be getting along in the early stages of the experiment, Sam said problems were present from the beginning.

‘I felt like I was being spoken over quite a lot. If you look back at our first commitment ceremony, he talks the whole time,’ he said.

Despite raising it early, Sam said the dynamic continued, leaving him feeling increasingly shut down.

‘The first time I tried to speak up, it just blew up. He couldn’t see my side because he was so worried about protecting his image,’ he recalled.

Chris has acknowledged he struggled in those moments, admitting confrontation often triggered a defensive response.

‘I don’t like that type of confrontation… it makes me get really defensive,’ he said.

Tensions came to a head during a dramatic dinner party, when their issues were brought into the spotlight in front of the group.

Chris described the experience as ‘awful’ and said he believed the issue had already been resolved privately.

‘I did apologise in the apartments and thought we could move forward,’ he said.

But for Sam, the core issue had not been addressed – and raising it publicly was about being heard.

That difference in approach marked a turning point, with the conflict continuing to resurface rather than being resolved.

Chris also revealed he was under immense pressure during filming, including personal stress unrelated to the experiment.

‘I had so much going on… the pressure was building up. I wasn’t communicating great and I wasn’t the best version of myself,’ he said.

He admitted he ‘wished’ he had handled certain situations differently and has since taken steps to work on himself.
