GOSSIP.CO.UK : Kit Harington reveals the Game Of Thrones cast did not stay in touch and says ‘we just had to move on with life’ as he reunites with Peter Dinklage for the first time since filming wrapped

Kit Harington has revealed he hasn’t stayed in touch with the Game Of Thrones cast since filming wrapped in 2019.

The actor famously played Jon Snow in the iconic HBO series, and was one of the few characters who survived its eight seasons without meeting a grisly demise.

Kit has now revealed that Emilia Clarke and John Bradley were the main stars he’d spoken to since Game Of Thrones came to an end.

The star recently reunited with co-star Peter Dinklage, who played Tyrion Lannister, for Variety’s Actors On Actors series.

Asked by Peter whether he’d spoken to any of the cast, Kit said: ‘With Emilia yes, because she’s just down the road but I think there’s an element of school leavers to it.

‘It’s like we finished the thing, the magic is gone and everyone actually has to separate. But I do, I text John [Bradley] and I text Richard [Madden].’

Peter admitted: ‘I should try harder, it’s on me because I’ve been told in the past, by friends, text me more man. And like be a better friend a little bit, especially with family and kids and stuff, you sort of, let time go by.’

‘We’re all quite disparate, because we just had to get on with life. And we had so much time together,’ Kit said.

Peter then joked: ‘We will have all those AI photos online of us together at BBQs!’

Heartthrob Kit has since starred in Marvel’s Eternals alongside fellow GOT star Richard Madden, and in 2018 he tied the knot with his co-star Rose Leslie in a fairytale Scottish wedding,

Kit and Rose welcomed their second child, a girl, in 2023, two years after Rose gave birth to their son, who is now five.

As with their little boy, the couple haven’t made their daughter’s name, or other details surrounding her birth, public.

Just weeks before Game Of Thrones’ divisive series finale hit screens in 2019, Kit checked into a luxury wellness retreat to work on his stress and alcohol use issues.

His publicist said at the time: ‘Kit has decided to utilize this break in his schedule as an opportunity to spend some time at a wellness retreat to work on some personal issues.’

A source revealed that Harington was at the facility ‘predominantly for stress and exhaustion and also alcohol’.

The source added: ‘His wife Rose is being extremely supportive. Everyone close to him really wanted him to get some rest. Right now, he just needs peace and quiet.’

Kit has also been open in interviews during the long-running series about how the show has affected him and catapulted him to fame.

Harington admitted to breaking down in tears during the table read for the final season, as well as when he wrapped shooting for the last time.

In a two-hour documentary released by HBO after the finale, behind the scenes footage showed Harington tearing up when he learned that his character would kill his on-screen love Daenerys Targaryen (Emilia Clarke).

‘My heart is breaking. I love this show more than anything. It has never been a job for me, it’s my life,’ he said in the documentary when his final scene was filmed.

Kit also revealed in an interview with Variety that he sought therapy at the height of his GoT fame and was vulnerable following his character’s brief death at the end of the show’s fifth series.

‘My darkest period was when the show seemed to become so much about Jon, when he died and came back,’ Harington said.

‘I really didn’t like the focus of the whole show coming onto Jon – even though it was invalidating my problem about being the weak link because things were about Jon.’

‘When you become the cliffhanger of a TV show, and a TV show probably at the height of its power, the focus on you is f***ing terrifying.’

He went on to say that the period wasn’t a ‘very good time’ in his life.

‘I felt I had to feel that I was the most fortunate person in the world, when actually, I felt very vulnerable. I had a shaky time in my life around there – like I think a lot of people do in their 20s.

‘That was a time when I started therapy, and started talking to people. I had felt very unsafe, and I wasn’t talking to anyone. I had to feel very grateful for what I have, but I felt incredibly concerned about whether I could even f***ing act.’
